I was wondering because my teachers assistant was browsing myspace with no proxy or anything.

Yes, each group of accounts has different rules or permissions assigned to them, your teachers accounts are probably not as restricted as the normal user accounts that are given to students.

teachers have passwords to ovreride these blocks. it is very annoying.

I have admin access to my work computer, but it still blocks me from looking at those sites. there is sometimes a way around it though. Try typing in myspace.com instead of www.myspace.com. That worked for awhile, until my job updated the security....bastards. Hope this helps.
